Wf & d o c, I would not equal the two groups, given that one group has access to the information and the other one doesn't. To say the least.
SAHS: I think that would be a good start.
is there any practical way to let these people see the light?
has anything been already done to get the valuable information they need to them?
if yes, what has been the outcome?.

Nowadays most ex jw materials have shifted from hard support to essentially online content. These people may not have free/easy access to computers and the internet. Is there a way of compiling objective, relevant and pertinent information for their attention? Could this be a collective project to embark on?

an update on my life post education..... as the governing body continue to denounce higher education, reality continues to prove their words ignorant, ill informed and blatant lies.
i am proud and astonished to say i have just been accepted for a university teaching hospital post.
i have a seriously sought after, senior house officer job in intensive care, endocrinology and clinical pharmacology.
It is not ego that motivates me in writing this, though I am proud, it is the hope that someone decides to also pursue their life goals, because we only get one chance at them!
I love how you said it. Thanks for sharing this and wishing you all the best for the future!
...is that it gives me insight into jw circles i'd otherwise never know.. my mother loathes gossip and derives a personal pleasure in shutting jw gossips up.
as a family, we belong to that boring side of the congregation which never hear any of the juicy stories on the going-ons in the hall.. this forum however makes it possible to have a real panoramic view of the whole thingy.
from the gb to bethel, to the elders and their families, to the ninja-pioneer army, and many other cliques in the congregations.
I will warn you from personal experience if you wish to remain in the religion with a clear conscious then this may not be the best place for you. I thought I could have the best of both worlds. 18 months latter I walked out of Hall for the last time.
Hi Joe,
I fully get your point. I've lurked on this forum for years and yes... It does damage quite a few things jw-wise. You know, because I never bought into it totally even in my best jw years, having the best of both worlds has become a second nature for me. Whatever will happen will happen. For the meantime I'm enjoying my newly found serenity and calm amidst after so many years of tormenting myself.

For many trapped in........... I think this site helps keep them sane.
It does this for me. I used to be ignorant about different aspects of the congregation, and this made me feel lost at times. Reading on here from people who once were part of so many of these unknown territories of jw town helps me to have that sanity in a certain way. It's an eye-opener I could never have had in the cong only. I'm grateful about that.
How's that for a start?
That's great for a start! There are many ways people can enjoy this forum. Yet some points you raised, I'd tend to assign to other ex-jw websites. But that's ME.

This forum however makes it possible to have a REAL panoramic view of the whole thingy. From the GB to bethel, to the elders and their families, to the ninja-pioneer army, and many other cliques in the congregations. Over here there's always someone 'representing' each of those classes in the hall.
It's amazing but at the same time, it's such an obvious rule of life. If you want to have a wholistic view of something, be willing to take a few steps away from it.

so, i haven't lurked here in a long while however, i have been checking up more frequently and i saw that there is a rumor going around about getting barred from marriage if the brother not appointed by the time he is 23. is that true?
if it is, i am so screwed haha.
proud fader present within college.
One night this senseless rule came out of a smelly person's reflections on life.
At the other side of the planet, a "zealous and spiritual" , well meaning sister will meet a brother who doesn't fit this temporary-only-apply-it-to-others criteria. She will ditch him, convinced that she's doing the right thing.
She'll go marry somebody who'll be a mismatch to her, but she'll see him as okay because he falls under this 'good brother' category.
She'll end up regretting her decision when she'll see that people who invented this rule are letting their own kids marry whoever they want.
And life will go on in jw world with bitterness...

of course these can differ from one culture to the other.
but some are found exclusively on jw planet.
like..." sis/bro, do you mind preaching with me on saturday?".
Sure bro Sir. Just so you could catch a glimpse of what a submissive, caring and spiritual spouse I'm gonna be for you

Lol. Consider that as an official engagement!
You're just trying to keep it clean. You must be a really determined specimen to be able to extend your arm accross those 15 people in between you just so you could brush those boobies.
of course these can differ from one culture to the other.

Btw, in the case of 'seriously searching sisters', if she likes you, you can be sure that all the 'wedding' details will be thoroughly mentally processed even before that Saturday preaching
Do you know of other methods?
